Just an Ordinary Average Guy

You know, I never thought I could learn to appreciate our government controlled liquor distribution here in B.C. What that means, if you’re not familiar, is we can’t buy booze from anywhere but a B.C. Liquor Store. That is a government owned, operated, and taxed liquor store. We have “Cold Beer and Wine” stores, which have recently been given the green light to sell hard liquor, but they have to buy from the B.C. Liquor Distribution so it’s always more money to buy there because they still have to mark it up. They have the better hours and they’re privately owned and operated though. Anyway my point is this: the government run liquor stores don’t cheap out on anything. They always have very nice and clean stores. The staff is somewhat friendly and knoweldgeable (and well paid). But most importantly they have the strongest, thickest plastic bags to cart your spirits home in. I can not stress the importance of this when I have to pick up a sack full of frozen dog shit from the yard.

Lord, how I love a long story to reach an obtuse Joe Walsh reference.
