This almost sounds like a headline from The Onion. I mean what are the odds that Beverly Eckert, a woman who became a voice for the families of 9/11 victims after her own husband was killed in the 9/11 attacks, herself dies in a plane crash.
This is not to make light of the situation. Tragedies abound here. Her story is heart wrenching, please read it. I was browsing the headlines on the NY Times as I frequently do and the link caught me eye. I read the first few lines of the article and the first thought that struck me was, what are the freakin’ odds of this woman whose husband died after terrorists crashed a plane into each of the twin towers, dies in a plane crash some eight years later. Seriously. Death by plane? Both of them?
Isn’t that bizarre?
Hmmm.
Yep, that’s weird.
Dave…have you ever had to deal with icing while piloting?
One of the survivors of the Hudson crash had a brother who died on 9/11 too.
Very weird, I mean what are the odds?
No, thank God. I generally stayed on the ground if there was much threat of it.
And yeah, that’s bizarre and tragic.
