Did I mention this dog is a rescue? I can’t believe someone gave this dog up. We didn’t teach her this, she’s a natural born champion Flying Squirrel™ snatcher. I swear she can go at least six feet in the air to grab that thing. I did manage to teach her to jump into my arms on command. Yeah. Who would want a dog like this?
She’s amazing and beautiful. I love that last shot where you see her face forward.
Did you and Diana get these together? I’m thinking it would be darn near impossible to throw the Flying Squirrel™ and get the camera ready that quick.
Hand the camera to Diana so she can get a pic of the whole “jumping in my arms” thing! How much does Cassie weigh? If Cookie tried to jump in my arms she’d take me out.
You got it: Di launches the Squirrel™ and I fire the D80. Cassie weighs about 30 or 35 pounds. It’s funny when she jumps at your arms when you’re not ready for her. In that case she sails past your head and lands beside you. It’s not so funny when she jumps at your arms when you’re holding a sac o’ groceries because your natural reaction is to try to catch her. The eggs usually don’t fair so well in that case.
She’s gorgeous. This isn’t in your back yard, is it?
“Yeah. Who would want a dog like this?”
Isn’t that hard to understand? My guess would be that she was owned by someone who didn’t bargain on the boundless energy of a B.C.
“This isn’t in your back yard, is it?”
No, it’s the park on the riverfront in the (incomplete) retail village in our neighborhood. And yes, you’re right, she came from a family with two kids and a wife who didn’t appreciate Cassie’s boundless energy. Apparently the husband loved her and was heartbroken to have to give her up. Me, I would have dumped the wife.
What an absolutely beautiful dog!! Those are beautiful pictures of her too!
